At a Glance: 2025 Lincoln Corsair Grand Touring PHEV

Last time I drove the Lincoln Corsair PHEV was back in 2022 and I enjoyed driving it as it was a comfortable SUV. Well, for 2025 I still feel the same way about the Corsair PHEV Grand Touring.

Engine/Transmission

The 2025 Lincoln Corsair Grand Touring has a 2.5L I-4 Hybrid engine. It is paired with an eCVT transmission and produces a combined 266hp. So there really aren’t any significant changes for 2025 since the generation was introduced. This time around I was able to drive 43 km on electric only while in 2022, I drove 46 km on electric mode. Although some of its competitors may have more electric range than the Corsair, it is a bit cheaper than its competitors. 43 km is still decent enough for short commutes and if you plug it in daily, you just might not need to use gas all that often. While on hybrid mode, it is rated for 3.1 L/100km and while on gasoline only, it is rated for 7.1 L/100km. I averaged 4.3 L/100km hybrid mode. It is fuel efficient as I drove a little over 300 km and only needed less than $25 Cad to fuel up.

Handling/Performance

The Corsair is very much comfortable, it has a quiet cabin, and potholes are absorbed quite nicely giving a plush feel. This SUV is not a sporty drive; it will not make you want to drive enthusiastically on windy roads as it is meant more for comfort. You may feel a slight difference when it is on pure EV when accelerating from a stop. This is because you are only using electricity. While driving with the other modes, I did feel that it didn’t pick up speed quick enough, I felt it struggled a bit but again this is because it is more for comfort. The “Excite” mode does make the Corsair a bit faster to accelerate but don’t expect lightning fast acceleration times.

Comfort/Interior

I do like the multi-power seat adjustments because you will find a position that will work for you. It has comfortable seats for long commutes and has plenty of space for taller than average individuals. Both the driver and front passenger have plenty of headroom and legroom. Rear space is also generous for passengers. The interior is quite modern looking but is still equipped with physical buttons which I know is a plus for some. A new update that this Corsair received over the last one I drove is the 13.2-inch infotainment touchscreen which is simple to navigate.

Exterior

Like the interior, it is also great looking on the outside. The Corsair has a stylish body, and I really like the front grille. It is equipped with 19-inch wheels. There isn’t a whole lot going on the outside, like I mentioned previously, it has a very elegant look to it which I find attractive.

Pros/Cons

Although the 2025 Lincoln Corsair PHEV Grand Touring is a bit cheaper than its competitors, it still sits in the high numbers. It doesn’t have a whole lot of range which might not work for some people. It is a luxury SUV and feels very much like one, but I think choosing this Corsair is for the true Lincoln fans. I think the Volvo XC-60 is a great option but of course it’s a tad bit more expensive but you do get better electric range. The price of the 2025 Corsair Grand Touring PHEV is $78,365 CAD ($69,520 USD).
