The 2025 Ford Mustang EcoBoost is a great sports car if you are on a budget but looking to purchase a sporty or muscle car. Although it may not be as powerful as the V8, it still sounds great, and it is a raw sound as it is not integrated into the speakers.
Engine/Transmission
The EcoBoost Fastback Premium is equipped with a 2.3L EcoBoost engine paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The transmission shifts smoothly and quickly responds but the only downside was that it is not equipped with paddle shifts to manual shift when wanting to drive enthusiastically. It produces 315 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque. It is rated for 10.8 L/100km in a city and 7.1 L/100km on a highway. I averaged 9.7 L/100km. It is also available with a 3.15 LSD axle which in return provides better fuel efficiency and is great for daily driving.
Handling/Performance
Although it was designed to drive on windy roads, it gives an unsettling feeling when pushing it on windy roads. It may be due to a soft suspension, but it just doesn’t make you feel as confident and therefore makes you slow down when nearing a tight turn. On a straight line however, it picks up speed quickly and is just an enjoyable ride. It is great for daily driving as it is easy to maneuver in and out of traffic.
Comfort/Interior
Like most coupes, there is barely any leg room for passengers in the rear seats making it almost impossible to have people sitting in the back seats. At 5ft10, my seat was pushed almost all the way back and there was no space for anyone to sit behind my driving position. Maybe a kid could fit in the back if someone shorter is driving or if there is no front passenger, then the seat can be pushed forward for more space. It is equipped with leather trimmed seats, heated steering wheel, and auto dimming mirrors to name a few. Overall, it has soft to touch materials throughout the cabin and is comfortable to be in. It is equipped with a 13.2-inch touchscreen which is straightforward to use. It has a 9-speaker sound system with an amplifier made for a great sound system.
Exterior
The 2025 Mustang EcoBoost Premium is a great looking car. It is equipped with dual bright exhaust with rolled tips, and 18-inch wheels but this car is customizable, and you have options to upgrade.
Pros/Cons
This is a great car for those wanting some fun but also on a budget. It has more than enough power to have fun as it has great acceleration. It unfortunately is not available as a manual transmission and as mentioned above, it also isn’t available with paddle shifts. If having a somewhat of a fuel-efficient car is on your mind, then this is also a good reason to choose the EcoBoost as it is not as thirsty as the V8. The starting price of the Fastback Premium is $43,813 CAD ($33,393 USD).
