Yesterday was April Fool’s. While there were stories about a “3JZ Supra” or a “mid-engined 2023 Camaro”, Hyundai decided to take a slightly different route. They shared some ideas on their Instagram profile of what Hyundai’s popular Palisade SUV would look like if it were given the high performance N treatment.

This 3-row family SUV is normally powered by a 3.8L V6 that produces 291 hp. If it were given the N treatment, it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch for it to come equipped with the twin-turbocharged 3.5L V6 from the recently announced Genesis GV80 SUV & G80 Sedan. That engine is good for 380 hp and 391 lb-ft of torque.
In addition to the new engine, the Palisade N would also need stiffer suspension and fatter tires to give it better handling dynamics around twisty mountain roads. And finally to finish off the N-Line look, the Palisade N would sport front, side, and rear aero upgrades with red highlights and the traditional Performance Blue N-Line color.
Hyundai has no plans to make the Palisade N but what if there was enough interest from customers? Would that persuade the Korean automaker to change their minds? If it was made, there would be some competition from the Ford Explorer ST.
In addition to the Palisade N, Hyundai also shared concepts for the Nexo N and the Prophecy N. It is even more unlikely that the Hyundai Nexo N would see production as it is a hydrogen powered eco SUV but the Prophecy concept could become a reality… if the standard Prophecy concept becomes a reality.
