Hybrids are the way to go these days because of how fuel efficient they can be. The 2025 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid is a great option because you get fuel efficiency while still having great acceleration from a stop.
Engine/Transmission
The 2025 Tucson Hybrid Ultimate is available with a 1.6L engine that produces a combined 231hp and 258lb-ft of torque. It is only available as an all-wheel drive with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The Tucson is rated for a combined 6.7 L/100km but I averaged a combined 6.2 L/100km which is better than what it is rated for. Although its competitors have slightly better ratings for fuel economy, I don’t think it’s a big issue as it has great acceleration.
Performance/Handling
Driving in the Tucson Hybrid is comfortable as it has a quiet cabin. It has smooth shifts, and steering is responsive to your inputs. I think of it as a quick compact SUV that is responsive when you put your foot down. I had no issues with overtaking a vehicle as it downshifts to get moving quickly. Now I’m not saying it will feel like a sports SUV but for a 1.6L turbocharged engine, it does the job of picking up speed well thanks to its electric motor.
Comfort/Interior
Being inside the Tucson Hybrid is a nice place to be in. It has been updated and for the better, at least for those who prefer physical buttons over everything being integrated in the infotainment screen. The front seats are soft, and it won’t hurt your back or bottom if you sit for longer periods of time. It is equipped with a 12.3-inch touchscreen which is user friendly and built in navigation system. It is spacious throughout the cabin and even in the backseats, there is enough space for taller than average people. The backseats fold 60/40 and recline for better comfort with a center armrest if needed. There is a decent amount of space in the center console for small items plus a shelf like for storage on the front passenger side. This is good for smaller items that need to be handy.
Exterior
The 2025 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid has a great look to it. It is equipped with stylish LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, and 19″ alloy wheels on this Ultimate trim. For a more stylish look, there’s also the N-Line with a more sporty design. Overall, styling is great.
Pros/Cons
The great thing about this 2025 Tucson Hybrid is that it is comfortable to drive because of how quiet its cabin is, it drives great, picks up speed quite quickly and has great interior space. The not-so-great thing is that there are other competitors with better fuel economy although at 6.7L/100km, it is better than what a gasoline only car would be rated for. For this 2025 model, there has been some updates and like I mentioned earlier, it is great for those who prefer some physical buttons. The starting price is $47,999CAD ($33,365USD). So, is it worth it? Well, if you are someone that needs that comfortable and extra space, the driver assists features without having to pay a big chunk of money, then this might be a great option.
