At a Glance: 2025 Nissan Ariya Evolve+ E4orce

The 2025 Nissan Ariya Evolve+ E4orce is a stylish electric SUV with its modern interior, exterior design, it is comfortable to drive, and it has great driving range, but it depends on which trim level you choose. Although it has an appealing design, is it enough to choose the Ariya over its competitors?

Electric Motor

The 2025 Nissan Ariya is equipped with a 91 kWh battery that provides power to electric motors which produce 389 hp and 422 lb-ft of torque which is quite quick as it would be expected in an electric vehicle. It is rated for a combined 23 kWh/100km while I averaged 19.4 kWh/100km. If you opt for the Platinum+ Premium Package, you get a range of up to 414 km on a charge along with a few other features that may be of interest, but this package alone will cost you an additional $4,200 CAD.  Unfortunately charging a Nissan Ariya is not as quick as it would be compared to its competitors.

Handling/Performance

As an electric compact SUV, it performs great. It is comfortable on long commutes as it has enough seat adjustments for both the passenger and the driver, it has a quiet cabin and is a smooth drive. It drives great as it picks up speed relatively quick, although this is only if you choose the Evolve trim. Although it drives great, it lacks that agility around corners, it is not a sporty compact SUV. One big thing to note is that the Ariya does not have a true one-pedal mode. Unfortunately, you can not rely on just releasing the gas pedal to stop as it will not come to a complete stop. Although this may not be a big deal for some, it is inconvenient for those who prefer the one-pedal mode. Another thing to note is that the brake pedal tends to shift downwards so you’ll have to rest or adjust your foot on the pedal accordingly each time. This too may seem a bit tricky at first when driving the Ariya.

Interior/Comfort

As mentioned above, the Ariya is comfortable not only on the drive, but it has comfortable seats. It has enough adjustments for the driver and passenger to sit comfortably. As for the interior, it is quite stylish and very modern. It has a subtle look but modern with its touch sensitive controls for the climate. Although they are not physical buttons they are at least not integrated into the touchscreen. I also very much appreciated the center console as it is motorized so you have the option to either move it forward or backwards depending on your seat adjustment and where your arm rests comfortably. On the downside, because it is minimalist, it lacks storage space. You don’t have small storage areas because of how simple it is. The rest of the cabin has a great touch to it as it is surrounded with a suede-like material throughout the door panel and the dashboard which adds to that modern look the Ariya is aiming for. One plus for the Ariya is that it sits a bit higher than its competitors so for taller individuals, it makes getting in and out of the Ariya much easier and convenient. Leg room and headroom is plentiful in the rear seats for children and average sized adults. Trunk space is also decent as you can fit multiple grocery bags with no issues.

Exterior

The 2025 Nissan Ariya is equipped with 19-inch alloy wheels with alloy wheel covers, dual power folding and heated outside mirrors, power panoramic sunroof with power sunshade to name a few interesting features.

Pros/Cons

The 2025 Nissan Ariya Evolve E4force is comfortable thanks to its quiet cabin, its smooth ride, it has decent driving range for this trim level, it has decent space but lacks in areas that I believe to be important. It takes longer to charge from 10-80% compared to its competitors, it is not an agile compact SUV, it does not have a true one-pedal mode and is quite on the expensive side especially on the upper trim levels. I would not think it is worth it when comparing to its competitors who get a bit more driving range than the Ariya. The starting price of the Nissan Ariya is $64,919 CAD ($45,505 USD).
